Family Fun Afternoon, by Camp Quest West

We are proud to be working with Camp Quest West, the secular summer camp for children here in California, to host the Family Fun Afternoon.

The afternoon is designed for families with children of all ages, but anyone who is young at heart can join in the fun.

Planned Activities

Bounce House

Get your bounce on! Stop by the bounce house any time, take off your shoes, and have blast! All ages. Available from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM.

Learn to Be a Psychic

Ever wonder how they do it? Let your children explore the world of psychics and cold-readings with this reveal-all activity that teaches the tricks of the game. Great for ages 10 and up. 30 minutes, running 1:30 and 4:00 PM.

Fossil Rubbings

Take a bit of history home with you with our fossil rubbing activity. Stop by and time; we've got all the supplies you'll need. Fun for all ages, available between 2:00 - 2:30, and again from 3:00 - 3:30.

Take a Walk in My Shoes

A lesson in empathy and overcoming fears, this dialog-encouraging exercise will help kids understand what it's like to be someone else. Perfect for children ages 7 - 14. 30 minutes, running 2:30 and 3:30.

Coloring Activities

See how creative you can be! Stop by and do a little coloring and show your work to the world, or just come by and see what other creative kids have made. All ages, available from 1:00 - 4:30 PM.

Teen Networking

Looking to connect with new friends? Have questions about life, the universe, and everything? Stop by and connect with other teens while we talk about some of life's most mysterious and interesting topics. For ages 12 - 17, available from 1:30 - 4:30 PM.

Group Photo Camp Quest West is designed for children from non-religious families: atheists, humanists, agnostics, freethinkers and others with a naturalistic world view.

We blend world-class science and critical thinking games with the traditional all-American outdoor camp experience. Think the glories of evolution paired with campfires and canoeing! Along the way, we build community, letting kids know that the skeptical community has something special to offer the world and role models to emulate.

Get ready for 2012! We'll be in Grass Valley (near Sacramento) from Jul 8, 2012 - July 14, 2012, and Wrightwood (near Los Angeles) from July 22, 2012 - July 28, 2012.
